Be My Image — privacy

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 July 2026

Be My Image processes webpage images locally on the user's device. Downloaded images, webpage content, browsing history, and page URLs are not uploaded to any server. Image scanning begins only after the user initiates it.

What the extension does with data

What is stored, and where

DataWhereWhy
Your settings (file formats, sizes, save folder, capture options)Browser extension storage on your device (synced by your browser if you use profile sync)So your preferences persist
Captured / collected images you keep in the StudioBrowser local storage (IndexedDB) on your deviceSo the Studio can reopen your session
Images you downloadThe folder you chose on your computerThat is the product's purpose

Nothing above ever leaves your device via the extension.

Permissions the extension requests

PermissionUsed for
activeTab, scriptingScanning the page you are viewing, only when you start a scan or capture
downloadsSaving the images you chose, and revealing your save folder in the file manager when you ask
storageKeeping your settings on your device
contextMenusThe right-click “collect this image” menu item
clipboardWriteThe “Copy” button in the Studio editor
Host access (<all_urls>)Fetching the full-resolution image files referenced by the page you scan (many sites host images on separate CDN domains). Used only for image requests you triggered; never for background browsing.
sidePanelThe extension's UI opens docked in the browser's side panel. Pure UI placement — no additional data access.

Donations and feedback

The Donate button only opens an external payment page (e.g. PayPal) in a new tab. The extension itself never collects, sees, or stores any payment information. The in-app feedback form sends only the text you typed (plus the extension version and browser version, to help reproduce issues) to the developer's inbox via the Web3Forms delivery service — no account, sender address, or any other data is required or collected. Nothing is sent unless you press Send.

Data deletion

Use Clear in the Studio to remove collected images, or uninstall the extension to remove all of its local data. Because nothing is stored server-side, no further request is needed — but you can always reach us at admin@danielsword.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published at this address with an updated date. Material changes will be noted in the extension's release notes.
